Export & Delivery

Folder Export

Save documents directly to your local file system

Folder Export is Sapoto's default export destination. All downloaded documents are saved directly to a folder on your device — no cloud uploads, no third-party services. You have full control over the output directory and file organization.

Output Directory

Choose any folder on your device as the output directory. This is where Sapoto saves all downloaded documents. You can change it at any time in Settings → Export → Folder.

Default location

~/Documents/Sapoto/

You can point this to a cloud-synced folder (Dropbox, iCloud Drive, Google Drive) if you want automatic off-device backup.

Folder Structure

Documents are automatically organized into subfolders by provider name. Each provider gets its own folder, keeping your documents clean and easy to navigate.

File Naming

Sapoto uses the original file names provided by the portal when possible. If the provider uses generic names (like document.pdf), Sapoto renames files to include the document type and date for easy identification.

Configuration

Output Directory

The root folder where all documents are saved. Change this in Settings → Export → Folder.

Organize by Provider

When enabled (default), documents are grouped into subfolders by provider name. Disable to save all files in a flat directory.

Tips

  • Point the output directory to a cloud-synced folder for automatic backup across devices
  • Combine folder export with Email Forwarding to both save locally and send to your accountant
  • Use your OS file search (Spotlight on macOS, Search on Windows) to quickly find documents by name or date
